About David Thompsen
A photographer from the seacoast region of New Hampshire, USA, my works focus on seascapes, landscapes, and architecture. New England provides a wide variety of engaging subjects - seashore, mountains, forests, cities, and small towns offer great opportunities for capturing beautiful photographs. I also have images from my travels to New York, Colorado, and Quebec.
I write frequent posts on my website dthompsen.com to provide viewers some background on my latest works.
I use artistic filters on many of my images to give them a painterly look. I also use High Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques to uncover and preserve rich details. The processing techniques I use depend on the subject and the lighting of the original photograph - I experiment with different approaches until I find one that complements that particular image.
As a member of the New Hampshire Art and Seacoast Artist Associations, some of my works are usually on display in those galleries.
