The Gundalow sailing ship, a replica of the historic small ships that transported cargo between the towns on Great Bay, sails past Fort Constitution and the Portsmouth Harbor lighthouse in New Hampshire.

Part of my New England series, I enhanced this photograph using artistic filters to give it a unique, painterly appearance.

New England provides a wide variety of engaging subjects - seashore, mountains, forests, cities, and small towns offer great opportunities for capturing beautiful photographs. I often use artistic filters on many of my images to give them a painterly look. I also use High Dynamic Range (HDR) techniques to uncover and preserve rich details.
